It’s always a joy to work on wedding films and, having filmed weddings for many years I always get to capture amazing moments that I know couples treasure forever. Hannah & Alex’s day was one of those weddings that I’ll remember because of the iconic father-daughter dance. Check it out at the end of the wedding video.

The Coniston Hotel was a great venue for this wedding, with a large lake I felt at home, even though it wasn't the Lake District! Hannah and Alex were a lovely couple and it was great fun to spend the day with them. They were also the first wedding I was able to incorporate interviews on. It's something I had been planning but these guys were kind enough to let me try something new, and I really like the outcome. There's lots to improve on, and I've been doing so in subsequent weddings and I've improved my approach for 2025 to get more in-depth thanks to improved pre-production. But I think it helped bring to life the video, hearing from Hannah's parents helped capture the excitement and emotions of such an important day.

Before wedding films I'd worked on many videos over the years that were individuals talking about their lives and experiences, or documentary content and both these focus on the emotion and memories of the individual. The goal of a video like that is for the viewer to understand and feel the emotion of the on-screen moment. I believe that by carefully incorporating more moments like that, capturing memories and emotions, I can create better and better wedding films that help the couple relive their day, but also that last for generations. I'd have loved to watch a video from my grandparents wedding, hearing their friends and family talk about them. I'm grateful that Hannah and Alex trusted me to try something new.
